A game-like app for building your own track: you pick a rhythm, you pick what each instrument plays —guitar, bass, drums, keys, melody—, the desk mixes the takes and out comes your song. And then the best part: you choose which station to hear it on.
Concept
The station's claim was "let's respect music", and a line like that is unarguable: any station can say it. What not everyone can do is prove it. So instead of an ad I built a game-like app that lets the listener put a track together.
You pick a rhythm —reggae, rock, jazz, blues or funk— and then build the band: guitar, bass, drums, keys and melody, three variants each. That is 243 combinations per rhythm and all of them play, because the takes are recorded separately and aligned so any crossing lands on the beat. The desk mixes them live and shows you the progress of each channel, like a master being made.
The payoff is the part that carries the whole campaign: once your track is ready, the app asks which station you want to hear it on and gives you two dials, Urbana on and "another station" off. You hear your own song on one and then the other. Nobody explains anything: you draw the conclusion yourself.
