A site that is a book. Worn leather, paper with ragged edges, serif type and a single idea held from end to end: "thou shalt love beef above all things". Each section —the venue, the cuts, the wines, the desserts— is a spread of the book, turned the way you turn a menu at the table.

Concept

A steakhouse does not sell food: it sells a way of sitting down at the table. In Paraguay a barbecue is time, conversation, company. And La Cabaña positions itself from the name onward as a place of ritual, not of errand. The site takes that on from the first screen, which has no menu and no buttons: just old paper with a line in the middle, "thou shalt love beef above all things", the first of the Commandments that give the place its tone. It is a site that opens with a declaration of faith, not a "welcome".

After that, everything a diner wants to know before booking is there, resolved with the right calm. The venue shows the architecture —stone, wood and metal— because whoever chooses a steakhouse also chooses where they will sit. Exclusive cuts does not list dishes: it explains the process, the ageing, the export standard, because in a serious steakhouse the argument is the beef, not the photograph. And the menus are really there, complete and paginated: publishing the whole menu is a decision, it means price and range are an argument, not a secret.

The whole site happens inside an object: a leather-bound book open on old paper, with worn leather, ragged edges and a shadow along the spine. Navigation is turning pages, with the section written on the spine and an ornate drop cap. It is the culinary sibling of La Casa del Habano: the same idea that a site does not have to look like a site, but like an object the visitor already knows how to use. There it was a cigar box; here it is the restaurant menu. In both cases navigation is not learned: it is recognised.
