A sheet of handmade paper with frayed edges, resting on a polished wooden table. On it, the founder's photograph with his signature, and the text explaining where the foundation comes from. The whole site is that object.
Concept
I made the site for a family foundation that carries a person's name, and that detail sets the whole tone: make it look modern and it reads as a company, make it look institutional and it reads as paperwork.
I solved it with two materials and nothing else: polished wood as the ground and a sheet of handmade paper laid on top, its edges frayed. The site does not open with a mission statement or a corporate logo — it opens with don Ramón's photograph and his signature. First the man; then what the family did with his example.
One page per section, the videos linked out to YouTube and Canal 14 rather than hosted —the right call for a small institution in 2012— and every texture composed by hand in Photoshop.
