The internal operating system of an advertising agency, built from scratch: tasks, approvals, chat, email, digital media buying, invoicing, HR and a leadership dashboard, in a single tool instead of six subscriptions.
Concept
A 40-person agency runs on too many tools: one for tasks, another for chat, another for email, another to book the meeting room, spreadsheets for media buying and yet another to clock in. Desk came out of a management decision: stop paying for generic tools and build one that speaks the agency's language — clients, boards, approvals, shoots, media.
The home screen sums it up in three layers, read from top to bottom: the person (their day, their tasks, their approvals), the team (workload per person and per client, bottlenecks, attendance) and management (media investment, value delivered, platform usage). One scroll and the director knows how the agency is doing today.
It is my largest piece of work as a director: not a website but the product that runs the daily operation of a ~40-person agency with 60 user accounts and more than 700 open tasks. It replaced an external project-management tool, removed the scattered subscriptions, absorbed the HR system and gave management a view of the agency that did not exist before. It is developed continuously (version 2.111) and its own development board lives inside Desk.
